This was a great wedding where I got to meet old and new friends.
Michelle and Russell are just a fantastic couple and they travelled down from Wicklow to get married in glorious Killarney. The day got off to a cranky start, heavy showers and what not, but out of nowhere the sun appeared and by 4 0 clock the guests where sipping champagne and smoking cigars in the gardens of Muckross Park Hotel. This was the first time I’ve had the opportunity to film at this venue and I have to say it’s a great location for a wedding!
I also bumped into an old friend – the hilarious Fr. Micheal O’Doherty – who was bemused at the notion that Michelle discovered him on the internet…. Truth is, I posted the Wedding Story in question and a handful of brides looked for his contact details thereafter. Speaking of old friends, Ian Cronin and his assistant, Trevor, were taking care of the photography and amusing the guests with their usual charm.
Here’s a sneak peek at the day’s events…

Thanks largely to Elaine… (OK, she deserves all the thanks actually)… our wedding plans are really starting to fall into place now. Despite some of the great hotels in Tralee that I have filmed in and highly recommended, Elaine fell in love with the relatively new Fels Point from the very second she walked in the door. I’m not filming my first wedding there until late July but I’ve been hearing fantastic feedback about this venue and I have to say that I was very impressed with the place when Elaine and her posse of women hauled me in there to check it out during a recent weddings promotion.
Manager Andrew Jackson has been looking after us and nothing is a problem: Whatever we (meaning Elaine!) want is immediately accomodated by Andrew. Great service, mouth watering food, intimate setting… Excellent choice, Elaine!

Weddings In Kerry is a new and exciting resource for couples who are interested in getting married in one of the most beautiful places on earth and I was simply thrilled when the group asked Velvetine Studios to produce their promotional video.
Weddings In Kerry is a collective of some of Kerry’s leading hotels and it is their goal to reach out to a worldwide audience and promote the Kingdom as a wedding destination: after all, we are blessed with natural, breathtaking scenery, stunning venues, glorious churches and cathedrals, friendly people, and award winning wedding suppliers. The group more or less gave me a free hand to get this message across on their website and we all decided from the outset that we needed a video that captured the magic and feeling of a wedding in Kerry. I’m delighted to say that after a lot of hard work we have done just that! Yesterday, I screened the video to the group for the first time and the feedback from them was a resounding 10 out of 10… we even got 11 from one member.
Weddings In Kerry are busy putting the final touches to their website (designed by the impressive The Marketing Crowd ) so stay tuned for more details and launch dates. Velvetine Studios will also be making an exciting announcement to coincide with the launch so for all you 2009 Kerry brides who thought you could live without a wedding video… Think again!!!
