Mes & Joe are simply two fantastic people who make one great couple and I loved every single second of this wedding!

One of my goals for 2009 was to bring Wedding Story to a larger percentage of Cork couples and, thankfully, Mes & Joe (from Leinster) are one of many Cork weddings we have filmed this year.  It’s a great county with some gorgeous churches and reception venues and I simply love filming there!

The ceremony was held in the picturesque village of Ballycotton and their reception took place at the stunning Barnabrow House which just oozes charm and character… if this country house with its stylish decor, quaint cottages, and breathtaking scenery were in Kerry then Elaine and I would have had to seriously consider it as a contender for our own reception.  And the food… Yum!  Not only was the food first class but I also had a great chat with Mes & Joe’s photographer, Roger Overall.  I love working with Roger and I’m a big admirer of his style and passion for documentary photography… it takes a brave and highly skilled artist to shoot weddings the way Roger does; a brilliant photographer, for sure!

Finding Elaine’s engagement ring (Askomoy’s in Cork) was a long process and there were times when I began to think we’d never find it… but this pales in comparison to her search for her wedding dress: I’m just thankful that I didn’t have to tag along to countless bridal shops!  Just when everyone was starting to worry about the dress – or lack of – Elaine found it on a recent trip to Belfast where she was visiting her grandfather in hospital.  It turned out to be a great weekend when he made a fantastic recovery from his illness and Elaine walked into Jean Miller’s and fitted on “The Dress.”
