Bernie and Finbarr’s teaser goes live here on the blog at 7pm this Friday. This wedding video film was shot at St. Mary’s in Ballyheigue and the reception was held at Ballyroe Heights Hotel, Tralee. Stay tuned… it’s a cracker!

2010 started with snow capped Kerry mountains, glorious sunshine , and the wedding of Ballyheigue locals Bernie & Finbarr. Bernie was a bridesmaid when we first met her almost five years ago. A lot has changed since then and Jan 2nd 2010 was her day… stay tuned to the blog for a sneak peek at her wedding video film.

As you can see the from blog teaser above, Karen and Robert’s wedding was a beautiful day. It was an intimate wedding with immediate family and they could not have picked better locations in Honan Chapel, UCC and the luxurious Hayfield Manor, Cork. The day was bursting with emotion and it was such a privilege to meet these wonderful people and share in their big day. We also had a great time working with John Sexton who was taking care of the photography.

Velvetine Studios travel Ireland to make great wedding video films for a limited amount of couples every year and we are lucky enough to make lots of friends along the way, many of whom are other service providers. And every now and again a service provider works their magic and the world seems to stop still for moment and Caroline Fraher’s stunning performance in Dingle last year at Linda & Paul’s beautiful wedding was one of those moments.
Caroline is a Cork based singer and her spellbinding voice can take a wedding ceremony to an entirely new level.

We had so much fun filming and editing this Wedding Story for Paddy & Aine in Limerick. These amazing people were referred onto to us through a past couple of ours who we made a wedding video film for and I’m so glad we got to share in their day. I can’t remember the last time I laughed as much during the speeches and coupled with a meaningful wedding ceremony, this is a great wedding dvd. Copies are now on sale for €25 + €5 shipping and remember, we will send your order for approval to the bride and groom before we accept any payments. Simply fill out the form and we will get back to you as soon possible.

All this wedding planning and changing dates can be a real headache… or so Elaine keeps telling me. We changed our date from July to October and we had to juggle our clients dates, friends and families schedules, and our suppliers availabilities before we could settle on a date and venue. Everything was going just perfect for us: We managed to nail down The Malton in Killarney – one of my favourite filming locations! – our band The Marvels from Cork were available, our piano player Maurice Culligan was still on… and then, disaster. Glen Elliott, the wedding videographer I was flying in from Philadelphia was booked and unavailable. I was gutted! So what does one do in situation like this…. well, I went looking for someone else in Canada but more of that some other time.
We are all delighted with The Malton hotel. I’ve had the opportunity to film several weddings there in the past so I know what to expect from them: beautiful surroundings, great service, fab food, and I know our guests will be in the safest of hands.
