It Was Madness

I think we could all learn something from this family.  Bianca and Kevin {and their adorable son, Ezra} are some of the nicest people you could ever meet.  Nothing is a bother.  As long as everyone around them is OK then they’re OK.

We arrived to Adare Manor to film the morning preparations and we were greeted by a strange paradox of sorts.  The bridal suite was somewhat hectic in that one of the bridesmaids was taking care of everyones hair, there was make-up, gifts being exchanged, little Ezra needed to be shared between his Mom and Dad, and yet, the bride exuded a calm that seemed to keep things from boiling over into nervous tension.  Bianca is a gentle soul.  There is no other way to describe her.  It’s a pity she couldn’t have walked down the corridor to Kevin’s room though because he could have done with some of her relaxing presence.  Kevin is a successful businessman, he deals with pressure situations everyday in our present economy, and he dresses people for a living… but do you think he could close his own cuff links that morning? No chance. Like I told him, everything you know goes out the window on the morning of a wedding.

The weather didn’t know what to do with itself.  One moment it was relatively clear and the next it was belting rain.  But again, nothing was a bother to this couple.   The ceremony took place in Adare and I love filming at this church.  We were spoiled for choice when it came to filming: a beautiful bride, atmospheric lighting, meaningful homily, Australian Bush style bouquets, incredible music by String Trio, and it was all the more pleasurable because we were working alongside Roger Overall – a gentleman, journalist, and gifted photographer.

And the best was yet to come… Adare Manor.  What an amazing venue.  Five star service all the way, great food, and breathtaking architecture. It was amusing to hear some of the Australian guests remark that they felt like they were part of a Harry Potter film set.

Bianca, Kevin and Ezra: Thank you so much for having us as a part of your wedding day.  You are such kind, friendly people and it was a pleasure for us to tell your Wedding Story!

Experience – Part 1

TARA & KEVIN

Meet Tara and Kevin.  During our consultations it became very clear that they were not looking for a wedding video. Anyone could give them a wedding video, which was why they were talking to us.  They wanted us to tell their Wedding Story and they wanted it to reflect an important time of their lives.

Elaine and I had been busy creating a new package.  It was perfect for Tara and Kevin… And they agreed.

RAISING THE BAR… AGAIN!

Velvetine Studios are proud of the fact that we changed the face of wedding video in Ireland.  We pioneered a brave, new style of wedding film that is modern and yet, timeless.  When we set out on this journey many years ago, our aim was to redefine a tired and out dated industry.  We wanted to produce meaningful films that set a new benchmark.  And last summer when a photographer asked us to name who our main competition is Elaine and I looked at each other and answered, honestly “We just do our own thing…”

It was time to offer a new service, something that raised the bar, yet again, and over the course of a series of blog posts we are going to reveal all.  Stay tuned.
